Sony plans to start selling Blu-ray-discs with movies recorded in 3D-format in the next fiscal year, which begins April 1, 2010.
According to the deputy head of 3D-business Sony Nakata, Joe (Joe Nakata), a company specializing in video conversion, ready to work.
In the summer of 2010 Sony plans to begin sales of approximately 9 models of Bravia LCD TVs and Blu-ray-player with support for stereo. Also around that time will be released a new firmware version for the PlayStation 3, which adds the ability to play 3D-content.
Currently, the Japanese electronics maker is in talks with television companies and video game developers to release products with support for 3D. Relevant agreements already signed with Discovery Communications and Imax. Following the 2012-2013 fiscal year, Sony is planning to earn money for products with support for 3D $ 11 milliard, not including the proceeds from the sale of content.
